Description

Let’s slow down, get cozy, and create! This class will allow students to discover their own style by exploring art media at their own pace while receiving instruction on best practices and the application of design elements (line, shape, form, value, texture, space, color, etc.).

Each week, Miss Hoover will provide fall-themed options (around here, that includes dragons) to spark imagination and allow students to enjoy the process of bringing their ideas to life through drawing, painting, and/or sculpting. Each student can spend the entire time drawing, or develop a drawing into a painting, or develop the idea into a sculpture! Make a drawing of a cat baking cupcakes or a sculpture of a dragon sipping tea. What will you create?

This class is for artists at any level.

Suggested Supply List*

• Pencils (regular #2/HB school pencil, 4B, & 6B pencil are recommended) -If you have other types you’d like to try, then bring them!
• Erasers (“Pink Pearl” type is great, plus a kneaded eraser)
• Drawing pad (white or cream-colored paper around 8” x 10” to 9” x 12”)
• Ink pen(s) – fine line & at least one with black ink (a super fine Sharpie type can work). I also recommend 2-3 other ink colors (Bic ballpoints can work great.)
• Blender stick(s) (also called tortillons – essentially are sticks of tightly rolled paper)
• Ruler (preferably clear & 12”)
• Pencil sharpener (can be a small handheld type)
• Container(s) for supplies
