Brenda Edwards

Brenda Edwards is the Creative Director of Orchard Kingdom. The barn itself, concepts, songs and stories of Orchard Kingdom characters were born in 1999 after being inspired by a learning tool at a homeschool convention. Brenda learned to sew from her beloved grandma and enjoys passing on these skills to future generations. She creates all the patterns and designs for the semester sewing classes and summer music/sewing camps. She started teaching piano at the age of 13 then accompanied musicals for 5 straight years where she learned to love the medium that combines singing, acting and costume design, all as an avenue of sharing a living faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. She graduated from Illinois State University with a bachelor’s degree in music education in 1981. Brenda writes and has written all the original camp stories (6 published books); ongoing stories for the sewing classes; Scripture songs that represent each degree of the music scale and each character of Orchard Kingdom and other faith based songs. She and her husband, Ed recorded two albums and toured the country before settling here in Jacksonville in 1987. The long awaited dream of the barn was realized in the summer of 2020 when Orchard Kingdom moved from the Baymeadows location of 9 years. Two of the Edwards’ three children also teach at Orchard Kingdom.
